The Holy Matriarchal See is a sovereign entity, headed by a woman catholic pope in Application of the Elimination of All Forms of Sex Discrimination determined by the International Community of Nations.

The matriarchate dates back for divin institution from the beginning (without the need of a male authorization) and, as structurated church, it has 715 years. The church of Maifreda da Pirovano continued till nowadays with great difficulties for the women priests.

On 2006 pope Benedict XVI renounced to one of his historical titles: the title of Patriarch of the West. It was an obsolete title for the roman pope that nowadays governs many churches sui iuris and not only the Latin church, that is only one of the many sui iuris chuches.

For courtesy reasons, in consideration of future and desiderable good relationships of ecclesistical communion with the Roman pope, the pope of the Guglielmita church Kyara van Ellinkhuizen prefer to use the title of Matriarch of the West (and in female version respect "Patriarch of the West" that doesn't exist anymore) as an attribute of her pontificate that regards today her sovereign and independent catholic willielmitian church. Her title of Matriarch of the West means also that she governs the Latin sui iuris church.

The actual Matriarch of the West is Kyara van Ellinkhuizen that assumed the name of pope Miriam Ipazia (Miriam Hypatia).
